Imran Tahir, captain of the victorious Guyana Amazon Warriors team in their first CPL title win, expressed his gratitude to R Ashwin for foreseeing their tournament victory. Tahir acknowledged Ashwin’s prediction during the post-match presentation following Amazon Warriors’ dominant nine-wicket triumph over the Trinbago Knight Riders.
Reflecting on the journey, Tahir spoke of the motivation he derived from initial jests about his captaincy appointment. He extended thanks to those who had doubted him, along with his family and the families of his teammates for their unwavering support throughout the tournament. He also singled out the team’s analyst, Prasanna Agoram, for his relentless efforts in strategizing, and expressed appreciation to Ashwin for his foresight prior to the competition.
Despite an early setback in the first Qualifier, where they lost to the Knight Riders, Amazon Warriors regrouped strongly. They bowled out the Jamaica Tallawahs for 101 in the second Qualifier and restricted the Knight Riders to just 94 runs in the final.

Knight Riders’ captain Kieron Pollard, while disappointed with his team’s performance in the final, praised their overall effort throughout the season. He acknowledged Amazon Warriors as the deserving winners, citing their consistent performance and resilience as key factors in their victory.
Pollard also commended his team for reaching the final after finishing at the bottom of the table in the previous season, highlighting their belief and fighting spirit as commendable traits. Despite the loss, he congratulated Amazon Warriors on their well-deserved triumph, acknowledging that sometimes in life, certain outcomes are simply deserved by others.
