This season sees the debut of the Antigua & Barbuda Royals, who will replace the disbanded Jamaica Tallawahs. Their addition marks the return of the CPL to Antigua after 10 years.

The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) organizing committee has announced the schedule for the 12th season of the flagship tournament. The T20 competition is set to start on Thursday, August 29, and will end on Sunday, October 6.

A new franchise, the Antigua & Barbuda Royals, has been introduced this season, taking the place of the former Jamaica Tallawahs. This marks the return of the CPL to Antigua after a decade.

The tournament will feature 34 matches hosted at venues including Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, Warner Park Sporting Complex in St Kitts, Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia, Kensington Oval in Barbados, Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad, Guyana National Stadium in Providence, and Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.

The opening match will feature the Antigua & Barbuda Royals facing off against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. All knockout matches will be held in Guyana.

Michael Hall, the Tournament Operations Director, expressed his enthusiasm about the CPL’s return to Antigua after a decade. He anticipates that the tournament will have a broader reach in 2024.

“We are excited to kick off in Antigua & Barbuda, hosting matches there for the first time in 10 years. It’s also gratifying to have home games for all six teams, with the Biggest Party in Sport set to expand its footprint even further in 2024,” said Hall in a press release.
