Guyana’s Harpy Eagles emerge victorious in the West Indies Championship.

Once again, the Guyana Harpy Eagles have emerged as champions, successfully defending their West Indies Championship title and earning a prize of $250,000 USD in a thrilling exhibition of cricket skill.

Dr. Kishore Shallow, President of Cricket West Indies, presented the champions’ cheque of $250,000 USD to Tevin Imlach, offering his sincere congratulations to the team for their consistent performance and unwavering dedication. He commended the Harpy Eagles for their impressive display of skill, tactical prowess, and resilience throughout the tournament, which truly embodied the essence of West Indies cricket.

In a thrilling conclusion to the championship, the Harpy Eagles secured a decisive eight-wicket victory over the Combined Campuses and Colleges, catapulting them to the top of the leaderboard with 103.8 points. Key contributions from Raymond Perez, who scored an unbeaten 79 runs, and skipper Tevin Imlach’s crucial half-century were instrumental in their path to victory.

Guyana Harpy Eagles retains their West Indies Championship title/Winward so  near but yet so far!The championship reached its climax with a tense encounter between the Leeward Islands Hurricane and the Windward Islands Volcanoes, resulting in a hard-fought draw that ultimately confirmed Guyana’s dominance as champions for the seventh time in nine years.
