Draymond Green has emphasized that the chance of him joining LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers is slim unless LeBron opts to switch to the Golden State Warriors. On a recent episode of the “Point Game” podcast, Green reiterated his commitment to ending his career where it started, with the Warriors.

“I’ve mentioned before, unless LeBron heads to Golden State, I don’t see that scenario unfolding. Personally, as long as the Warriors are willing to keep me until I’m ready to hang up my shoes and throw them over the telephone wires, that’s where I’ll be.”

“When I look around the NBA, there’s nothing else that excites me more than striving for another championship with the team I’ve won four championships with, alongside the guys I’ve shared those victories with—Steph and Klay.”

“I don’t scout other teams thinking, ‘Hmm, I could shine there.’ Forget that; I can excel right here. My focus is on doing whatever it takes to secure another championship.”

“While I’d relish the chance to team up with LeBron someday, I thought that opportunity might come this summer with Team USA. Since that didn’t happen, it probably closes the door on that possibility. As long as the Warriors welcome me, that’s where I’ll be.”

Despite their fierce on-court rivalry, Green and James maintain a strong friendship off the court. Speculation has arisen about them playing together before retiring, but Green has dismissed such rumors, affirming his loyalty to the Warriors.

Green’s commitment to the Warriors shines through in his desire to pursue another championship with longtime teammates Curry and Thompson. His remarks highlight his steadfast belief in the team’s potential to vie for more titles.

While the notion of Green and James teaming up is intriguing, Green’s focus remains on contributing to the Warriors’ success and solidifying his legacy with the team. Unless LeBron opts for a move to Golden State, the prospect of them becoming teammates seems unlikely.
