At Chelmsford, Jamie Porter and Shane Snater’s devastating bowling display led Essex to a comprehensive victory over Lancashire, securing an innings win within three days. Lancashire succumbed to just 41 overs for the second time in the match, with Porter and Snater claiming three wickets each.
Meanwhile, in Southampton, Fletcha Middleton achieved his first County Championship century, but the match between Hampshire and Warwickshire seems headed for a draw, with Warwickshire holding a comfortable lead with all second-innings wickets intact.
